Tim J. Hickey
has dedicated his life to supporting the community, raising money and awareness for nonprofits and people in need using entertainment to bring senior citizens, children and adults of all ages together.
In this photo, Tim poses with Japanese tap dancer Ryo Ishiyama at the Meydenbauer Center Theater in Bellevue, Washington. The May 25, 2011 production Tap For Joy raised money for the Red Cross in Tokyo, Japan three months after the 9.0 earthquake, one of the largest and most destructive in the world.

In 1994, Tim J. Hickey met Chuck Morgan and Bill Woods (photo above right). They requested his help to build a future home for the arts in Kirkland. Tim understood the importance of the project to the community and dedicated much of his time through the following years raising money and awareness for Kirkland Performance Center which we have enjoyed as a treasured venue for the arts since 1997. From the ground breaking (photo above left) to the opening with Bernadette Peters, Tim J. Hickey has been there for Kirkland. Vote Tim J. Hickey for State Representative Pos 2 and he will be there for all the citizens of the 48th District!
Recently Retired Adjunct Professor from Cornish College of the Arts, single parent, newly married, happy husband and resident of Kirkland, Washington for 28 years.
Tim studied Business Management at Boston University and Political Science and Sociology at the University of Massachusetts in Dartmouth, then launched into a career in entertainment to serve the community, teaching children and senior citizens, and raising money and awareness for those in need.
After touring all over the United States and abroad for two years, Tim settled in Kirkland in 1992 and as a single parent, raised his son James from 2nd grade at Lakeview Elementary through his senior year at Lake Washington High School.
Tim owned and operated Tim Hickey's Dance Studio in Houghton and opened and founded Kirkland Dance Center. In addition, he owned and operated an eastside remodeling company.
In recent years Tim’s dedication to community service has broadened to include politics. His personal experience of the harm done to families, and burdens placed on small businesses by unreasonable laws has driven him to get involved and take the lead.
Chairman of the 48th District Republican Party. As Chairman, Tim brings great energy and leadership to informing constituents of current issues and legislative initiatives, encouraging public participation, and directing caucuses unifying support for issues and candidates important to the community.
Precinct Committee Officer 48th District (PCO). Meeting neighbors and listening to concerns, as PCO for the 48th District, Tim canvases the area to understand the priorities of the community. He shares the values of his constituents and provides strong leadership in fighting for what matters most.
Advisor to Kirkland Community Safety Advisory Group (COMSAG). In support of the Fire Department, Tim collaborated with the Mayor of Kirkland, City Manager, Fire Chief, staff and citizen advisors. He dug in to thoroughly understand and present effective common-sense solutions aiding in the build of a November 2020 ballot measure to meet Fire Department resource needs. Tim balanced the priorities of assuring public safety goals while minimizing cost to the community.
Vice-Chairman Kirkland Senior Council. Tim’s commitment to the Senior community is deep with over 30 years advocating, teaching, and supporting the elderly in Redmond and Kirkland. Invited to join the Kirkland Senior Council, he stepped up as Vice-Chair to expertly advocate for senior issues with city government.
Chairman of Viva Volunteers. Tim led the citywide Viva Volunteer Fair successfully recruiting help of all ages for local non-profit agencies and the city, providing vital ongoing support to the community.
